VISA PROCESS
The following sections provide an overview of the visa process:

CONSULATE REQUIREMENTS
  • A fully completed visa application form, plus two passport photographs, must be submitted with your application.
  • Your original passport.
  • Evidence of funds for the proposed trip.
  • You'll need these supporting documents:
  • A business letter from the hiring company explaining the reason for the visit, its duration, and who is funding it or invitation letters from business organisations in the UK
  • All original academic records and birth certificate
  • A full, United Kingdom contact address.
APPLICATION FORMS
To apply for your visa you have to fill in an Application Form which you can download from here, or get at the Consulate in your city. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to download it.
FEES
Depending on the kind of visa, the fees vary from Rs 2,300 to Rs 3,500. Be aware of the following:
  • Fees are payable on application, for each applicant, including children, and are non-refundable.
  • Due to the number of forgeries there may be some delay in processing visa applications if the fee is paid in 500 rupees notes.
  • The visa fee can also be paid by a bank draft but it must be made in favour of "British High Commission" and should be payable at New Delhi.
  • If the application is sent by post, the bank draft should include an additional Rs. 40 to cover the postal charges
  • The mode of payment at the "Non-Present" counter is bank draft only.
